shoes

In a recent stroll down memory lane, I brought out some music I listened to quite extensively about 15 years ago. I love it now as much as I did then, but I have a whole new level of understanding. It's like putting on old shoes for the first time.

Shopping

Christmas-Gifts

I've always been the kind of guy who waits until mid December to start my Christmas shopping. Sure, I'll think about what to get the people on my list before then, but all the shopping is done in one day - one insane shopping day.

This year is different - maybe I owe it to shopping online.

Only half way through November and I'm half done my shopping already.

Now my concern is that I will keep shopping for my wife even though I'm "finished" her shopping.

Just need to learn to keep it in my pants, I guess ... my wallet.

Trick Or Treat

Trick or treat . . .

Are we supposed to wait until Halloween to say it? The answer, as I've learned, is no.

To herald the arrival of October, the kids decided to play Halloween. They dressed up, walked out the door, turned around and started ringing the doorbell. They may be a little excited . . .

They say TRICK or treat ... I always ask for a trick but I never get one. Kids look at me like I have three heads, but I haven't worn that costume for years ... yeah, costume . . .

Are you watching that again?

When I was a kid I remember watching the same movies over and over - drove my parents crazy it did - and it seems some things just refuse to change.

My two oldest are 7 and 5 and they like nothing better than watching the same DVDs hundreds of thousands of times. Every once in a while I present them with a movie from my childhood to steer them in a different direction - they don't always like it, but for my own sanity I have to try. The latest addition was a big time winner - The Princess Bride - I've never heard anyone say they don't like it.

My 5 year old walks around saying "My name is Inigo Montoya" and my 7 year old yells "AS YOU WISH" at random intervals.

This is on my list as one of the greatest movies ever made. It has everything you could ever hope for in a movie ... including rodents of unusual size.

Google+

So Google Plus is the new social network. Wish I could say "Who cares. Don't need another social media platform. Not interested." But I am interested, I do care. Facebook is no longer my friend - game requests, less than intuitive navigation, and my mom's friends adding me have all pushed me away. I like Twitter a great deal more but it's still pretty impersonal, and sometimes impossible to express an entire thought. Google+ is a hybrid of the two with a twist. I don't know all the ins and outs yet but I really like what I see.
I've never met a Google product I didn't like - search, earth, youtube, gmail, chrome ... the list is ever growing.
