tracy Tracy Kennedy

Tracy is BIG 105's news director and anchors news in the morning on sister station 1067 The Drive. She has been with BIG 105 since 2000, and with The Drive since shortly after its launch. The Newfoundland native has spent most of her life in Edmonton, but got her broadcasting and communications training at Camosun College in Victoria, BC. Her first job was in Quesnel, but she was happy to come back to Alberta after landing the job in Red Deer. Tracy enjoys travel, photography, design and writing. She met her husband Cameron, who works at the Advocate, while on the job as reporters. They have two young and busy sons. She continually wishes a cook, cleaner and babysitter would magically appear in her life.

Grew up in the thriving metropolis of Clive, Alberta and graduated from Lacombe Composite High School in 1998.  Then I dabbled in various miscelaneous ventures before graduating from SAIT in 2006.  From there, I jumped right into covering the Central Alberta news and sports scene by working in Lacombe for five years.  I also spent the last four years working as the Public Address Announcer at Red Deer Rebels home games.  I have some play-by-play experience with teams including the Calgary Canucks, Calgary Roughnecks, and Bentley Generals.  I'm a single guy with no kids (gotta learn how to take care of myself first lol).  Go Stamps! Go Flames!

G'day Central Alberta!!
Hmm...a little about me...well...it's my first time living in the wild west after growing up in Ontario and working in the maritimes for the first 25 years of my life...but I like it here! My interests include a good steak dinner, checking out live music and cheering for sports teams that have barely won anything in my lifetime (Florida Panthers, Toronto Blue Jays, Miami Dolphins, Toronto Argos). I'm usually out and about covering the latest fire, press conference or court case so I hope to see you around!

I was born and raised in Calgary.  My radio career started there, where I worked in promotions for 3 years, but news was always my passion.  I got my big break with BIG 105's sister station B94 in Rocky Mountain House where I worked for a year as the News Director and Morning Show Co-Host.  Then after a short stint for a station in Salmon Arm BC, I am happy to now call Red Deer Home.
