5 Things I Did This Summer |

5. Yoga I enjoyed the summer sun at Kin Kanyon & practiced some yoga moves with Bonnee and Krista. These Yoga girls have now opened a brand new Yoga studio and cafe in Red Deer. http://www.breathingroomreddeer.com/
4. Westerner Day The best part was when my sister & I were paralyzed in fear on the ferris wheel. My mom thought it was hilarious and videotaped it. Luckily my mom is not great with technology and deleted the whole thing. We also timed the ride with the fireworks, which I've always wanted to do, but we were too scared to look!
3. Golf Nothing beats a relaxing day on the golf course. This summer, we had a staff tournament at Top o' the Hill in Sylvan Lake. Perfect day with delicious food. Â 2. Soundgarden Concert I was pretty thrilled to see one of my favourite bands from the 90's at the saddledome! The couple in front of us was pretty entertaining too! They LOOOOOVE Soundgarden.
1. Wedding My brother in-law Shayne was married this summer. The visit with family was full of laughs, surprises and happy tears.   |

5. Bower Ponds
this is a nice place to go for a walk, let the kids play at the park, rent canoes and just enjoy the sunny days in Red Deer. Bower Ponds features the Historic Cronquist House from 1911 which is a piece of Red Deer's history and is also available for meetings, retreats, weddings and more.
4. Discovery Kanyon
 so much fun for families!
Discovery Kanyon is a natural river-fed water pool. You can swim and also rent tubes to go down the lazy river. There's a playground and concession to refuel the kids.  Discovery Canyon is awesome for hot days and is open Monday - Sunday during the summer. Discovery is beside Riverbend Golf and Recreation Area.
3. Yoga In The Park
You can try a Yoga class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Kin Kanyon, as long as there's no thunderstorm watches! Bonnee started Yoga in the Park a few years ago and her class sizes have grown over the years because it is so wonderful AND FREE! Join Bonnee and Krista for relaxing and challenging Yoga in a nature setting. YIP goes 5:30-6:30pm. See you there!
2. The Downtown Market and the Farmers Market
....... this picture pretty much says it all, except where it is. The corner of 51st Ave and 49th Street.
The Farmers Market is Saturday mornings 8- 12:30pm in the Red Deer Arena parking lot. Â
Â
1. Westerner Days!!!
Rides, yummy food, entertainment, games, fireworks and more!
Westerner Days are July 20-24 at Westerner Park (corner of Gaetz & 19th Street). Gates open at noon everyday until midnight. BIG 105 will be there too, come by and say HI! |

I've only been on twitter for less than a year, so I don't follow a lot of people yet!
However, these are the people I follow everyday...

Â
Â
1. Tori Spelling @torianddean - I love reading tweets from Tori. Her twitter is my guilty pleasure. Tori is always putting fun pictures up, stories and party ideas. She is pretty freakin hilarious too!
Â
Â
Â
Â
2. Entertainment Weekly @EW, People Magazine @peoplemag , Eonline @eonline - I enjoy looking at pictures of celebrities and getting the latest entertainment news!
3. The Oprah Magazine @O_Magazine - Always great for inspirational words, healthy recipes and interesting topics especially for women.

1. Oprah.com Oprah Winfrey’s official website – Live Your Best Life. I love this website. There are sections on “Spirit”, “Health “ “Relationships”, “Fashion & Beauty” and more! Oprah’s website features books, fashion tips, recipes, daily quotes... way too much to mention. It’s beautiful!
2.  Centralalbertaevents.com Alberta Sweet 16. Looking for fun things to do in Central Alberta for the weekend? Information on events in and around Red Deer like CentreFest, Discovery Wildlife Park Movie Bear Weekend, Children’s Festival and more.
3. Howstuffworks.com Stuff You Should Know – These guys are great! When you’re on a roadtrip and lose radio reception, pick a free podcast from Josh and Chuck. I’ve listened to dozens of their podcasts and now know a little bit more about…sleepwalking, parkour, the Large Hadron collider and how butterfly wings get their colour.  The hosts are entertaining and the long hours in the car seem to go faster.
