The second annual Red Deer Minor Hockey Midget A Outdoor Winter Classic Hockey Tournament will be held January 27-29 at the Bower Rinks (85 Boyce Street).  Three Red Deer teams and five out-of-town teams will wear retro jerseys and socks respresenting the expansion era of 1967-68 NHL Hockey Teams, plus the Oilers and Flames.  A skills competition will take place at 2pm on the 28^th.  Features of this tournament will include a continuous bonfire, live music, and games from early morning until 10pm.  Keeping pace with tradition, the players will be shoveling to keep the rinks free of snow.  Burgers, hotdogs and hot chocolate will be available.  For more info contact Al or Corine at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
